Legal
Terms & Conditions
These terms govern your use of Nisdos Mail. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. The service
Nisdos Mail (“Nisdos”, “we”, “us”) routes, verifies and encrypts email for domains you control and writes that mail into object storage you nominate. We provide the routing, encryption, webmail and management layer; you provide the domain and, where you choose, the storage.
2. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use Nisdos Mail. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account details, for keeping your credentials secure, and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.
3. Your storage & your domain
When you connect your own storage or domain, you confirm that you are authorised to do so. You are responsible for maintaining that storage, its availability, its costs, and its access credentials. We operate your mailbox using the credentials you provide; we are not responsible for outages, data loss, deletion, billing or policy changes on infrastructure you control or that a third party controls on your behalf.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Nisdos Mail to:
- send unsolicited bulk mail, spam, or phishing;
- distribute malware or engage in fraud or deception;
- infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights;
- harass, threaten, or harm others, or transmit unlawful content;
- attempt to breach, probe or disrupt the service, its security, or the infrastructure of others; or
- violate any applicable law or the acceptable-use rules of your storage provider.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, and where necessary act to protect the service, our other users, and the sending reputation of the platform.
5. Fair use of “unlimited” plans
Where a plan is described as offering unlimited domains, users, aliases or storage, “unlimited” is subject to fair use. It is intended for normal email use by real people and organisations, not for resale, bulk-sending operations, or automated abuse. Because mail is stored in your own storage, storage capacity and cost are governed by your provider. We may apply reasonable limits to protect service quality and prevent abuse.
6. Early access
Parts of the service are offered as early access and may change, break, or be withdrawn. Features labelled beta or in development are provided as-is, without any assurance of completeness or stability. We value early-user feedback but are not obliged to implement any particular feature.
7. Fees & payment
Paid plans, where applicable, are billed in advance on the interval shown at sign-up. Fees are exclusive of taxes unless stated otherwise. Charges for storage and other third-party infrastructure you nominate are billed to you directly by those providers and are not part of our fees. We may change pricing on reasonable notice, effective from your next billing period.
8. Encryption & key custody
Mail is encrypted at rest with per-mailbox keys. If you enable device-custody encryption, keys are generated on your device and enrolling erases our copy — meaning we can no longer read, recover, or reset access to that mail. You are solely responsible for safeguarding keys held only by you; if they are lost, the affected mail may be permanently unrecoverable.
9. Availability
We work to keep Nisdos Mail reliable, and our receiving edge is designed so that mail is accepted only once your mailbox holds it. However, the service is provided without any guaranteed level of uptime unless a separate written service-level agreement says otherwise. Maintenance, third-party outages, and events beyond our control may cause interruptions.
10. Intellectual property
The Nisdos Mail software, brand and site are owned by us or our licensors. These terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service. Your mail and content remain yours; you grant us only the limited permissions needed to route, encrypt, store and deliver it on your behalf.
11. Termination
You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these terms or where required by law. Because your mail lives in storage you control, closing your account does not delete mail already in your storage — that remains under your control.
12. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nisdos will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, nor for loss of data on infrastructure you or a third party control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, communicated to you. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
